My sister sent me an email about this
site so I could send a condolence for her neighbors brother, Matthias Hanson, a
young Marine killed in Afganastan just three weeks after he arrived there. My
heart goes out to his family and I just wanted to let them know that, and that I
was praying for them and that I truly appreciate the sacrifice that not only
Matt but his entire family has given for our country. For me. I was completely
unprepared for the emotional response I would have upon seeing all of those
messages. My Moms brother served in Viet Nam so I grew up with an appreciation
of the Military. That appreciation has taken on a whole new meaning since my own
son became a Marine. But my God! So many fallen heroes. So many lost loved ones.
I am overwhelmed and humbled. May God bless each and every one of you. I'm sure
that He has a special place in Heaven for those who have willingly given their
lives for us as Christ did so long ago. I would encourage each of yo u to
thank anyone you see in uniform for their service. The look of suprise on their
faces will tell you that they don't hear those words nearly enough.
