I think that your family has done alot for me and our country.  For giving their life to us.  For being so nice that they would be thoughtful enough to risk their life for others.  I love all of the soldiers who are defending us and the rest of the world.
Love,

There are no words that are adequate for this website..... I hope just the number of postings will speak volumes to the friends and family members of those who have died.

The pain in our hearts over the loss of a loved one never goes away. Its with us always. Over time it may become less of a stabbing hurt; more of an ache that's always around our hearts. One thing I know for certain is that although we can no longer see them or hug them, they are still always with us.  They are now free of their earthly bonds and pains.  We are left to grieve...but only for a while. We will see them again one wonderful and happy day.

My condolocences goes out to all the families, whose loved ones have given the ultimate sacrafice in protecting our freedoms and making this world a better and safer place.  My fiance recently lost her brother in Baghdad, Iraq on November 14th, 2003.  His name was SPC Irving Medina, and he was only 22 years of age.  Irving lost his life at such a young age, but he died doing what he was proud of.  He loved this country and was proud of the fact that he wore the uniform to defend it.  We should all realize and appreciate the fact that Freedom is not FREE.  It comes with a price, and for many families that price is an ultimate sacrafice.  As I tell my fiance, after losing a loved one, things get worse, before they do get better.  There is one thing that will heal the pain in your heart, that is time, take it one day at a time, remember your loved one not by the way they passed, but rather hold dear to you the wonderful memories you've shared, and know that they are
always with you, in spirit, within your hearts.  My heart and prayers go out to all the families and friends that have lost a loved one to war.  May your hearts be filled with peace and love.  God Bless all those who wear the uniform, as well as those back home, who are their mental and emotional support.

Twenty miles as the crow flies, four days by car.
From the dusty plains of Texas, to the Cumberland Gap.
From the Green Mountain forests to the border towns of California.
You came from all different walks of life.
It doesn't matter to me if I've never met you.
I don't need to know your names, nor see your faces.
You skin has no color to me, nor do I look at your church any different from mine.
To me, you are my brothers and sisters.
What I know is you took an oath, an oath that most will never understand.
It's not about what Congress says today,
or how the Commander in Chief feels tomorrow.
Instead that oath stands for an ideal.
That ALL men and women deserve to be free.
You chose your path, to join so many before.
I morn beside your families from a thousand miles away.
Every day I cry for my brothers and sisters.
I hope to see you again with all of our wide family some day.
Thank you

I want you that have lost these "Precious Souls", to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, each and every day, as your loved one fought for "Our Freedom", and is one of our "Nation's Hero's".  We will never forget, what your Son or Daughter has given us.  They gave their best,  they gave their lives, so that we might live in freedom.
It is because of their willingness to fight for our freedom, that we continue to enjoy great freedom.  I will never forget your dear one.  I love you as well, and I will always be grateful.

I am the wife of a soldier that is over there fighting right now for the second time. Although he is still with us I pray for him everyday and night as well as all those that have been, is now, or will be going. I pray for the families that have lost loved ones, may God help you through the hard times of grieving and thereafter. In my eyes you are all heros, along with our Armed Forces, for handling your loss that caused you such great pain. I will continue to pray for you all and God Bless every single one.

I hope that our fallen HEROES know how proud we are of them. Because of those men and women who died protecting and serving for our country, we can now live in peace. We have freedom because of those men and women, and I hope that when they look down on us we are making them proud. We will never forget all the men and women who have made this world a better place. One day hopefully this world will have no violence, and we can go to bed at night without worrying if we will wake up in the morning. Thanks to those men and women, we are half way there. You will always be my HEROES!

I am currently serving in the army and just returned from afghanistan, I returned early due to getiing injured and have just attended the funeral of my best friend who was killed over there, it's hard. I sympathize with all the families that have taken a loss of a loved one overseas, they are all heroes. They may have fallen but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of those families.

I want to say to everyone that knew Senior Airman Jason Plite ,my nephew by marriage, that i hope you find peace in knowing that Jason is in a place we all hope to be someday. He is a true selfless hero.I think it was no accident that took our beloved. Jason was extremely special. He was beyond goodness. It was clear at a very young age that he was quite special. I just pray that the power of God's love reaches everyone whom loved Jason. Let go of the bitterness inside and know that Jason wants his loved ones to be happy and rid of any ugly feelings of hate and bitterness. Know that Jason had two lives ,both that he loved dearly. If you love him...love all of him,and respect that he loved two families very much, and both families had influence on the man he became. You don't have to like it...just respect it. Find PEACE with it. That would be the greatest gift to Jason. I've heard it said from his own lips. So if the family has a chance in the world of reading this all I ask is think about Jason's feelings. Don't bring him pain for simply loving .If you want to see Jason again someday, love  and forgive...even your enemies..and the doors will be open to embrace him again someday.

i am 5 years old.  i am sorry for all the people that lost somebody they love in this fight to help peolpe.  my daddy is there since aug of last year(2002) and i cry for him alot. he called home yesterday(may 2003) and writes me when he can but some of his friends can't because they are with jesus now. my mommy says that daddy job is to help people who need it and i am glad. i not to fight but if it helps people i guess it ok. i know that your heart hurts lots more than mine do.  if your family is not coming home it is ok to cry.  they did a good job cause it takes a special person to do what they did.  nobody told me but i know so.  when i say my prayers at night i pray for my daddy to come home and for the people who won't.  daddy say we are losing alot of good mommy and daddy sister and brother and somebodys children if one of them belong to you thank you for helping to make them special people.  mikayla t carter

this was written by my daughter to get her "thinks out" and i thought it would be nice to share the words of a child.

In memory of my husband CPT Pierre Piche, who died on November 15, 2003 when two Blackhawks were shot down over Mosul...
You are my best friend, my soulmate, and the love of my life.  You are always on my mind and forever in my heart.  I hope that you are looking down on me and guiding me through the every day things I now have to face without you.  I would give anything to hear your voice, touch your face, and hold your hand again.
Every month on the 19th, you gave me a rose to commemorate our anniversary.  Now I memorialize you with a rose...
Rest in peace my love.  I long for that day when we will meet again in heaven.

To all who have lost a loved one, especially in Iraq. My heart goes out to you all--I bear the same pain you do. I lost my beloved youngest son, Ssg. Paul J. Johnson, in Fallujah Iraq on 20 Oct 2003.He served as he wanted to, protecting his men. His 8 man patrol unit were his first concern--he is gone, but his men are coming home.  We can only honor the dedication and love our soldiers have for each other and for their country. Never let them be forgotten!! "On Angels wings, they are still watching over us!"

God will never leave you - I, too, have lost a loved one, but God has never let me down.  With Jesus as your Savior, you will never have to face anything alone!  Isn't that an awesome thought!  Thanks to our troops and thanks to those who gave the ultimult price - just as Jesus did.  If we are in Jesus, we will rise again - Isn't that too awesome to express.  God will go with you from this day forth - just ask.

I spent my Sunday morning home today.  Everyone went to church but me.  Quietly, I have sat here and read through all the condolences, and have reflected on all the ones lost and affected by the war these past few years.  As a family we visited the USS Alabama yesterday.  In the past we have visited the USS Arizona as well.  I can not describe in words what my heart feels.  I just know it was the will of the Lord- that we will all understand one day.  I will try to remember EVERYDAY to take time to reflect on how I feel at this moment AND PRAY!
THIS IS FOREVER IN MY HEART!

I would like to express the pride that I have for our country.   I myself have had a friend who was killed in the war in Iraq.  SPC Ryan Long was the picture image of an Army Ranger!  He had pride in his nation and in the military that he served.  I believe with all my heart he died doing the one thing he always dreamed of doing, fighting for the rights and freedoms that we have as citizens of the United States.  Ryan you will be missed and may God bless your family and all that hold you dear to their heart!

All Fallen Commrades will be LOVED, MISSED, and REMEMBERD! ON NOV. 14 my older brother Pfc. Scott M. Tyrrell was burned and lost his arms in Iraq. As a family we then decided to take him off the resporater. He then died on Nov. 20, 2003. He fought and died for what he and I both believe in. That in which all men and women should live free in this world. I say both because on Dec.5, 2003 I then signed a three year contract with the US Army. All men and women that fight for our country should get GREAT RECONITION for what they did. I'm sorry for every ones lose and hope that one day we as a country stop the killing and enjoy the peace.

In loving memory of my high school sweatheart, husband of 7 years and father of our 11 year old son.
PFC DAVID MICHAEL KIRCHHOFF SR.

Nothing can replace you being here and we never got to say goodbye to you. You wrote us letters all the time with words of love from Wisconsin and Iraq and now we hold those near to our hearts. We know who in your life you cherished most and all you left behind. You said from the day I met you on February 12, 1988 that you loved me forever and always and that continued in your letters from the war. If only the phone would ring one more time so I could hear you tell me how much you loved me like you did when you were in WI. Although both our lives had gone different ways we still meant the most to each other in our hearts and I know that you carried that with you when you left. I'm sorry that we can not see your face again. With all that has happened since your passing I know that you are not happy. I am sorry for the choices you made but nothing can turn back time for if it could you would be here where we could hug and kiss you like we used to. "Angel" from Aerosmith was our
song in the beginning and will be forever. You are David Jr.'s Angel and I know that you will be watching over him through all of his days. You are my Angel also. God must have been watching over us 16 years ago when you picked that song and told me that "Angel" would always mean us. People refer to you as an Angel not knowing how special that word is to you and I. Keep an extra special watch over your son, I know he was your pride and joy. Brandy

To everyone who has lost a loved one in this war, you have my deepest sympathies and also my prayers.  I, too, lost someone in Iraq.  My brother, SSGT Chris Swisher was killed in an ambush on Oct 9, 2003.  My faith in God, and the prayers of family, friends, and strangers has been the driving force in being able to face each day without my best friend.  I am proud to be an American, proud to be a believer, and proud of my brother.  One thing to remember about your lost loved one:  They were a person, before they were a soldier.  Hold tight to your memories until you may hold tight to your lost hero again.  Love and prayers.

I wish that each and everyone of you had the oppertunity to meet my brother in person and get to know him. He was the kind of brother every girl would ask for. I ask God to give me back my brother everyday. And when I come to sites like this one I get my brother back. God answers my prayer every time I read a letter of support for my family. Thank you all so much for helping God give me my brother back every day.
yours truly,

May he give solace to the anxious hearts of the many families waiting for their loved ones to return home again.  From the bottom of my heart I THANK YOU.

THIS HAS ONLY SERVED TO REMIND ME OF MY OWN SERVICE IN VIETNAM WHERE I FIRST LEARNED THERE ARE THINGS WORTH FIGHTING AND YES, DYING FOR. MY COUNTRY IS WORTH MY ALL AND THE SOLDIERS NEXT TO WHOM I SERVE ARE WORTH MY LIFE AS WELL AND THOSE WHO WOULD DOUBT THAT AS A FACT HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO LEARN ABOUT THE CHARACTER OF THIS NATION AND ITS WARRIORS.  GOD HAS CHOSEN US TO DO NO LESS AND OF OURSELVES WE WILL GIVE NO LESS AND OF EACH OTHER WE EXPECT NO LESS.

Even without knowing the names of your sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters, your loss is also a loss to those of us who are allowed, by our government, to enjoy our constitutional rights.  Thank You for giving us your beloved family members.  You will never know how much this sacrifice has touched my family as well as others.

I feel my words of sympathy can sound inadequate, but know my whole heart is mourning your loss.  Nothing can replace those who were willing to give the ultimate and nothing can diminish the bravery and valor of those who gave, and nothing can overshadow the bravery and love of those left behing who were willing to let them.  God bless you all.

I lost my son, Sgt Cory Mracek on January 27, 2004.  The pain is enormous, but it helps to see so many people that care for our soldiers and what they are doing.  He and his comrades that passed with him are heroes, but so are all the other soldiers.  Thanks so much to all.

To the families of the men and women who have lost their lives, I will keep you in my prayers.  As the wife of a soldier, I pray for all of our military personnel regularly and you are included in those prayers.  May God hold your loved one in His arms and give you strength as you carry on.  The families of our soldiers are our Heroes on the Homefront and you are the bravest of us all.  May God ease your heartache and may the many messages listed give you some comfort.

I personally know very little about military service.  But, I do know how lucky I am to live in a country where people readily volunteer to serve in order to preserve my freedom as well as others. I extend my heartfelt smypathy to the family and loved ones of those fallen brave young men and women.  I know to the core of my being that this has not been in vain.  I wish I could thank each one of them.  And, I have been recently thanking everyone I know that ever served during a war or conflict.  I thank them for preserving the very life that I live. God bless you and bring you peace.

To all who have served and continue to serve our country, thank you.  I pray that God would keep you safe and that you would lean on Him for support and strength.  To those who have lost loved ones, I am truly sorry for your losss.  I pray that God would give you peace as you turn to Him for support.  To our President, may God bless you for making the hard decisions and for standing up for what's right when everyone else is against it.  May our country unite behind our leader, to support him through the good times AND the hard times.  Most of all, I thank God for the freedom we have to openly worship Him and the opportunity He has given us to come back to Him as individuals and as a country.  God bless the USA.

I am sorry for the deep sadness that you must be feeling. The only thing that I can say is that I am just one of MANY that want to express our pride in our soldiers. You as family members and friends should be proud of yourselves because you have influenced the lives of many by making your soldier the great person that it takes to wear a uniform. I am the proud mother in law of a soldier now in Iraq and my daughter and her one month old daughter are anxiously waiting in Germany.I again want to express my sympathy for your loss and Thank you for raising a soldier.
