Below is a drawing that appears to
be in colored pencil. It was done by a GI, shortly before he/she
deployed
with his/her troops. This is a very moving piece of artwork that says
it all. Although it may
be hard to see on a web page, the fireman
on the ground is holding a hand from the rubble as he
hands the
flag to the soldier. The inscription above the soldier reads, "I'll
take it from here." I know
that some of you out there can find
some very inspirational words for this wonderful drawing.
This was sent to me by a man that
is now retired from the Air Force. He did not know who the artist
is. I hope that by posting it here, I will be able to find out who
this person is and give the proper
credit. The name on the lower
right hand corner appears to be Greer.
